Our Walk-In Bathtub Accessories

At Bentley Baths, customers are not buying a Jacuzzi, bathtub or hot tub! They are people with serious health and mobility challenges who want to live independently in their own homes, hopefully for life. Safety, wellness, and comfort of our customers remain at the forefront of our business. We strive to provide every customer with the highest quality accessories and safety features to ensure the finest bathing experience, and a safe bathroom to support aging-in -place.

Rapid Fill and Drain Technologies

Unlike traditional baths and showers, with walk-in bathing technology, the bather must wait for the walkin tub to fill and drain. This becomes a major quality of life issue, and most manufacturers don’t think about this, or provide inaccurate information to the public. For example, most provide only standard ½" valves. Some will state they offer ¾" filler valves, but in fact, only the couplers are ¾". The valves are reduced to ½" or even ¼" inside the valve.

Walk-in TherapyFiller Valves. Bentley Baths guarantees the highest quality true ¾" valves capable of delivering an amazing impressive 22 gallons per minute of flow. Regardless of what walk-in bathtub you select, our goal is to design your Bentley Walk-in Therapy Tub to fill in around 3 to 3½ minutes. ADA Complaint lever handles that function with 5 lbs of pressure or less, make bathing safe and comfortable for people with little of no grip strength.

Bentley Baths Industry Leading ADA Complaint Drain Systems.

Walk-in TherapyWalk-in TherapyDrain time is the opposite side of the same issue – in a walk-in bathtub, the bather must wait for the tub to drain before getting out. Bentley Baths specifies ADA complaint and rapid flow drains on all our tubs. Many models come with single , rpid flow cable operated drains, dual drains, and our largest tubs even have dual 3" drains. This means the walk-in or transition tub will empty in 3 minutes, OR LESS!

"Shock and Scald" Protection

Walk-in TherapyMost people do not think about cold water shock or hot water scalding as a major source of injury while bathing. However, it is one of the most common forms of bathroom injury, second to falls. Traditional baths do not protect the user from this possible injury. Bentley Baths does through the use of a range of customer appropriate Thermostatic Mixing Valves to maintain and limit the blending of cold and hot water to a desired, pre-determined temperature. These critical valves ensure you never receive water temperatures that could injure you, either too hot or too cold. Temperatures can be adjusted for safety and comfort and for maximum health benefit when using hydrotherapy. The bather can bathe comfortably knowing that the temperature will never be above the pre-set maximum. Bentley Baths strongly recommends installing a "true" Thermostatic Mixing Valve for all residential installations, and we require it for commercial installations, such as assisted living centers.

Separately Plumbed ADA Compliant Shower System

Walk-in TherapyAs with thermostatic protection, we always recommend plumbing our walk-in and slide-in therapy tubs with separately plumbed shower systems to allow the bath filler and the shower head to flow independently of one another (this is actually an ADA guideline). This allows the bather to simultaneously fill the bath while operating the shower. Again, as safety is our priority, separating the bath water from the shower water allows the bather to bathe in safety, with less fear of being shocked or scalded. This is different than the traditional bath/shower systems which use a diverter to divert the water from the bath to the shower allowing for minimal control of water temperature and the possibility of injury.

Our dual-valve shower systems and optional wall-mount slide bar are ADA compliant, easy to use, and provide safety from scalding.

Bentley Baths EXCLUSIVE NEW Bather Controlled Thermostatic Mixing Valve!

Walk-in TherapyBentley Baths engineers are constantly looking for and designing the very highest quality and best products and solutions for our customers. We are excited to offer our exclusive full ¾" rapid flow thermostatic mixing valve. This unique valve combines the work of the dual valve system into one easy to control set-up. With an amazing 19 gallons per minute of mixed water, this valve will run both the shower and the filler spout simultaneously, and directly from the deck of the tub.

Warm Air Massage

Walk-in TherapyEvery Bentley Bath appliance has the option of an air massage system which sends soothing, warmed therapeutic air bubbles through individual jets strategically placed throughout the tub. Few things feel better after a long day than thousands of air bubbles with jet action swirling about your tired, aching body. The hydrotherapy system creates a truly therapeutic environment. Typical water jet systems are known to be too aggressive for the elderly, unsanitary and can be risky to many bathers after short periods of use. A warm air system allows for stimulation of the bathing well that massages the body and increases circulation.

Walk-in TherapyMedical Hydrotherapy™ can be described as the treatment of illness and injury through the use of water. This includes the use of both hot and cold water and various methods of use. Hydrotherapy treatments help your body get rid of toxins that may be causing joint pain and inflammation; it also helps relax muscles relieves pressure on joints and bones. It relaxes you, both mentally and physically. When installed consistent with our medical guidelines, most of our customers receive a physician’s prescription for the therapy.

Stabilization and Grab Bars

Walk-in TherapyBentley Baths follows ADA guidelines when installing our appliances to the greatest extent possible. ADA compliant grab bars and bather appropriate stabilization throughout the bathroom are imperative in creating a truly safe environment. We strive for strategic placement of grab bars depending on the unique needs of each individual. Entry and exit from the bathing environment as well as weight and stature of the customer are taken into account. Since Bentley Baths is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist, we can provide the optimum safety placement of grab bars in the bathroom and around the house.

Shower Curtain Track

Walk-in TherapyWalk-in TherapyAn ADA compliant Shower Curtain system can be designed to fit any installation. These products are used in hospitals and provide optimal safety for the bather. Any feature in the bathroom that can distract the bather from stabilizing themselves can be a risk factor. Easy glide "track system" shower rods help eliminate this risk.
